For over 40 years George Bohanon has entertained and healed us with the magic of his music. "A love for the music and an appreciation for the musicians who have created the form we call "Jazz" is what I am glad to be a part of..." is how he puts it. And yet this statement does not even begin to do justice to a man who has shared his gift with us for so many years, and who can truly be called a "Keeper of theTwilight" with reference to the living jazz legacy of which he most certainly is a part. When recently asked how long he has known that he would play music, "I have been playing this music since I was eight years old, that's when I first knew that this is what I was born to do." was his reply.
This is called, living your making as opposed to just making a living, and the melody which extrudes from his horn invites each of us to reflect on the music and the internal calling for each of us to experience the same dynamic inspiration in our own personal life's journey.
Here are just a partial list of the many artist and fellow jazz musicians that
